What is SmartVent?
SmartVent is a patented roof and attic ventilation
product that provides the best passive attic ventilation
available. Using a unique design and installation method,
SmartVent eliminates the problems and inefficiencies
found in roof construction using ridge and soffit venting,
namely inadequate vent openings in the soffit.
SmartVent is a tapered, under shingle plastic product
designed for installation along the soffit edge of the
roof or the facing edge of dormer rakes and goes virtually
unnoticed. It allows air to flow freely through the
1" roof decking slit providing more than adequate
soffit ventilation to maximize ridge vent effectiveness.
This is extremely important since most ridge vent products
require an equal amount of ventilation at the soffit
in order to work properly. SmartVent, when used at both
soffits, has a total NFA rating of 18 sq. in. (or 9
sq. in. on each side of a standard gable roof).

Description: SmartVent Attic Intake
Ventilation is a patented tapered, under-shingle attic
intake vent designed to provide passive intake for use
in situations where intake at the eaves, hips, and valley
cannot be achieved. Once installed, SmartVent is unnoticeable
from the ground. Our Fabric Weather Guard prevents snow
and/or wind driven rain from entering the opening, yet
allowing air to move freely from soffit to ridge. SmartVent
is made of rigid corrugated plastic that tapers from
3/4” to 1/8”. SmartVent is nail-gunnable
and can be easily cut with a standard utility knife
for easy installation.
