After years of intense product research and development, Englert, Inc. introduced LeafGuard, a patented one-piece leaf and debris shedding gutter system, in 1993 to an industry starved for a better solution to old gutter problems.

While many gutter devices, inserts, covers, and replacements touted the benefits of no clogs, no one product served every homeowner need while offering a lifetime guarantee. Enter the gutter experts at Englert.

One of the nation's leading suppliers of metal roofing and gutter products, Englert, Inc. was founded by Herbert Englert in 1966 and was one of the first pioneers in the industry to use portable machinery in the production and installation of standard residential gutters. This allowed for custom installations and more rapid response to customer needs. Englert pioneered the concept of a total system, selling not only materials, equipment and accessories, but offering product support including color cards, literature and equipment service to independent contractors.

Answer: Englert LeafGuard is a seamless, one-piece system attached to the fascia board of the house with strong, specially fabricated internal brackets. Englert LeafGuard is roll formed to seamless custom lengths on site at your home.

Question: How sturdy is the Englert LeafGuard® seamless gutter?

Answer: The Englert LeafGuard® gutter system uses .032 aluminum, approximately 20% thicker than conventional gutters . The Englert LeafGuard® gutter is screwed to the fascia board every 2 feet with internal hanging brackets, unlike conventional gutters that are attached with spikes that can come loose.

Question: Is my roof too steep for the LeafGuard® seamless gutter system?

Answer: The Englert LeafGuard® seamless gutter system works well no matter what the pitch of your roof. In fact, the steeper the roof, the better the performance.

Question: How does the Englert LeafGuard® gutter work?

Answer: Liquid adhesion is the scientific principle behind Englert LeafGuard's® unique design. Molecular attraction causes water molecules to adhere to the surface they rest on, in this case the Englert LeafGuard® hood. Rainwater clings to the hood and falls in the gutter trough. The narrow opening between the hood and gutter deters debris from entering the gutter, easily deflecting it. It's that simple!

Question: What is Englert LeafGuard® constructed of?

Answer: Englert LeafGuard® is a seamless, one-piece aluminum gutter. Since it is aluminum, it will never rust or deteriorate like some galvanized steel gutters.

Question: Does it keep pine needles out of the gutter?

Answer: Yes, Englert LeafGuard® works great with pine needles, leaves, and other organic debris.

Question: You mean to say that nothing will get in the Englert LeafGuard® gutter?

Answer: No, that's not what we're saying. Clogged gutters are associated with rainfall because that is when the problem becomes apparent, but most debris gets into a conventional gutter when it's not raining. The Englert LeafGuard® gutter deflects this dry debris almost entirely. What little bit of debris that gets in the Englert LeafGuard® gutter when it rains will flush out of the downspout because of the lack of accumulated debris in the gutter.
